Salesforce Optimizer! – Optimizer evaluates your implementation to determine how your company uses certain Salesforce features, then identifies ways that you can improve your implementation for your company. Optimizer lets you run an automated, programmatic analysis of your sandbox or production environments.
Optimizer takes the guesswork out of how to best maintain features, so they can be optimized to help your users get work done. You can run Optimizer in sandbox or production environments to receive recommendations to improve features, clean up customizations, reduce complexity, and drive feature adoption.

What are the permissions needed for Kicking off Optimizer?
|User Permissions Needed|
|To kick off Optimizer:||“Customize Application” and “Modify All Data”|
|To receive the email that contains your Optimizer report:||In Setup, Email Delivery set to the access level “All Email”|
Kick off Optimizer to evaluate how you can improve certain features for your users. After you kick off your evaluation, Salesforce emails you a personalized Optimizer report with advice and recommendations about how you can streamline your implementation
How to Kickoff the Optimizer?
- From Setup, enter “Optimizer” in the Quick Find box, then select Optimizer
- Determine whether you want to run Salesforce Optimizer on a sandbox or production environment.
- To receive recommendations for how to improve sandbox, click Sandbox.
- To receive recommendations for how to improve production, click Production.
- Sit tight while Salesforce produces your Optimizer report.
After you kick off Optimizer, Salesforce generates a PDF report and emails it to you. Salesforce also saves the report to Salesforce Files.
- After you receive the report, follow its recommendations to make improvements to features across your implementation.

Your report will look very similar to the below screen.
You can drill down to each section by clicking on the arrow symbol. You will be taken to the detailed section of that content in the report. It should look similar to the below screen.
Salesforce Considerations for the availability of Optimizer:
The feature is also available for customers with certain IP address restrictions. Whitelist the following IP addresses for users who run Optimizer in your organization:
For Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions, whitelist these IP addresses on those users’ profiles. Users who aren’t assigned to those profiles can’t access Optimizer.
